Every piece in our first release is cut from the same fabric. We call it Finewale Interlock 250, and this is what makes it.
Interlock, not jersey
Most T-shirts are made from single jersey, a knit with a smooth face and a looped back. Interlock is a double knit: two layers of fine stitches knitted together, so the fabric is smooth on both sides. It is more stable than jersey, doesn’t curl at the edges and keeps its shape better over time. That stability is also what lets us leave some edges raw-cut, as on our Boxy T-shirt and Tank Relaxed.
Fine 30s yarn
We knit our interlock from 100% cotton 30s yarn. A finer yarn makes a denser, smoother surface that feels soft against the skin and lets air move through, so the fabric stays comfortable in warm weather.
250gsm, without the stiffness
At 250 grams per square metre, the fabric has real substance and drapes cleanly. Because of the fine yarn and the interlock construction, it falls soft rather than stiff.
Washed and compacted
Before it is cut, the fabric is enzyme washed for a softer, cleaner surface and compacted to keep shrinkage to a minimum. As a natural fiber, cotton can still shrink slightly with heat, so we recommend washing at 30°C, drying flat in the shade and ironing on low heat.
