From Indramayu to Bandung

A Finewale T-shirt travels a short distance before it reaches you. Every step, from knitting the fabric to sewing the last seam, happens in West Java.

1. Knitting in Indramayu

It starts with fine 30s cotton yarn, knitted into a 250gsm interlock at our fabric mill in Indramayu. The mill is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and is a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).

2. Dyeing and finishing in Karawang

The knitted fabric is then dyed in Karawang, in black and off-white. It is enzyme washed for a softer, cleaner surface and compacted to keep shrinkage to a minimum.

3. Cutting and sewing in Bandung

Finally, the fabric is cut and sewn by our production partner in Bandung, the same city as our headquarters. Each piece is finished with a 1×1 cotton rib at the neckline, and on some styles the sleeves, hem or armholes are deliberately left raw-cut.

Keeping production close by means we can visit, check and improve the work as it happens. When we refine a piece for its next version, the changes start with people we know.
