Anyone can make a T-shirt feel good on the first day. The real test comes much later: after the long days, the warm commutes and the many washes in between. We care most about how a piece feels on its hundredth wear.
Where it starts: the fabric
A T-shirt can only age as well as the fabric it is made from. Finewale Interlock 250 is a double knit: two layers of fine stitches knitted together, so the fabric is smooth on both sides and more stable than regular single jersey. It does not curl at the edges and it keeps its shape, which is why we can leave some edges raw-cut on our Boxy T-shirt and Tank Relaxed.
What we do before the first wear
Before it is cut, our fabric is enzyme washed, which removes loose fibres from the surface and leaves it softer and cleaner. It is then compacted to keep shrinkage to a minimum, so the fit you choose is the fit you keep.
What happens over time
Cotton is a natural fibre, and it changes with you. With wear and washing it softens, and the fabric settles into the way you move. The goal is not a T-shirt that looks new forever, but one that looks cared for: still holding its shape at the neckline, the shoulders and the hem.

How to help it along
A few habits make a real difference. Wash with similar colors at 30°C. Do not bleach and do not dry clean. Dry flat in the shade instead of hanging in direct sun, and iron at a low temperature of around 110°C.
Look after it, and the hundredth wear might just be the best one yet.
